Re: 'You can't open AutoUpdate directly.' Sure you can. As long as it's the current version (MAU 2.3.6). Go to: Mac HD/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/MAU2.0 & see for yourself:-) If it's an older version such as 041011 left over from Office 2004 or earlier it won't run on Mavericks because it's a PowerPC application. Unfortunately, the OP seems to have this forum confused with Twitter or just doesn't choose to provide enough information to enable anyone to determine what the problem is.
